For All Us Mothers of Twins (and maybe for those of us who are not as well..)

This is EXACTLY how it goes.

I was laughing so hard that I cried. This is SOOOO true. I sent your link to a couple of co-workers who are parents of twins. One of them has let me know that the conversation is surprisingly similar between guys, but instead of the tampon comment the non-twin dad mentions how “if I had twins, I would have to get up to help my wife in the middle of the night” which leaves my friend wondering what kind of jerk doesn’t get up when it’s a singleton….
Thanks for posting this. I LOVED it!

I don’t have twins, but I do get many questions as to why we don’t have kids yet (the nerve! We’ve been married for 15 months!) or when we plan on having kids. Tampon comment is locked and loaded.

This is absolutely hysterical! I am shocked people really speak to you this way.

I may have to watch it again…it was that hilarious to me!

That is EXACTLY how it is!
As a mother of boy/girl twins (who are now 9) we used to get asked ‘are they identical?’ and my husbands response was ‘Not below the waist!” …then they would still look like they didn’t get it!

That was awesome. I’ve had ’em all except the boy/girl stuff since we’ve have 2 girls. Just replace those with “so you are going to try for a boy now, right? Maybe you’ll get TWO more!!!”…ugh.

I am in violation of asking if twins run in the family. Not because I’m curious about IVF (hadn’t even thought of that!), but because I am a twin.

Is it annoying when someone tells you that they are a twin????? If so, I need someone to set me straight asap.

I have three daughters and everywhere I go people ask if we are going to try for a boy. Drives me nuts. We want to have another, but only because we want another BABY.

Lori- since you’re a twin you are totally ok with asking that! I usually love ity when someone tells me that they are a twin because then I get to ask twin questions- like how did you feel growing up with a twin, are you close etc… that way I kind of know what’s in store for my girls!

That’s a relief! I was imagining myself using the robot voice from the video, annoying twin mothers everywhere.

My twin sister and I are fraternal and do not look a thing alike! One of the best things my mom did was give Lisa and I our own birthday cake every birthday. I’m STILL referred to as “one of the twins” in my small hometown I moved back to. It doesn’t bug me but I think it’s funny.

We still refer to each other as “twinkies”.

Now I’m just typing random info. Your girls are adorable. 🙂

I’m going to go one step further next year and do 2 sep birthday parties for them in school. I think by age 4 they will get to an age where they will appreciate attention only directed at themselves! My girls are fraternal as well, dont look anything alike, but people always ask me how I can tell the diff between the two! I alwasy say “well, because they arent identical”…sheesh!
